Across the world, the healthcare industry is facing a critical shortage in key healthcare professions such as pharmacy, nursing, and rehabilitation professionals.  

The University of Nizwa (UoN) aims to help combat this shortage, with its highly specialised healthcare degrees. Each of the university’s science and healthcare degrees are career focused from the start, giving students the skills and knowledge to enter the job market directly after graduation.

The programmes’ curricula incorporate real case studies of local, regional and international trends and frequently invite global experts to speak about the different healthcare professions available to graduates.  

The University of Nizwa takes advantage of its strong relationships with the Ministry of Health and other government, military, and private health care institutions, to help graduates secure roles in a variety of healthcare professions.  

To build up students’ professional experience, each degree programme sets aside a semester to give students the opportunity to complete an internship of their choice. Once this is completed, students will sit an exam review module, followed by a professional exit exam. These tasks encompass both theory and simulation elements and encourage students to reflect on what they have learnt.
